Artist's Statement: I create functional pottery for everyday use. My work is influenced by Japanese and early American Folk Pottery along with the resurgence of studio pottery in contemporary America. Although this type of work is of humble and unassuming origins the inherent beauty of these objects is revealed in their sublimed demeanor. Through contemplation both visually and tactilely, I hope my work speaks to those who use it with strength and honesty revealing its quiet presence.
