Artist's Statement: I make pots that we use in our daily living. I try and make pots that are enjoyable to use and visually engaging. After wood firing for several years and enjoying the surfaces that were created from the firing with wood, I am now engaged in creating pots that speak of the process and materials they are made from, while not created for wood firing, they do have something of the same feel aesthetically.
I use local rocks and wood ashes for my glazes and have found they add to the texture of and enliven glaze surfaces thus giving the pots a life not easily possible using the more usual materials.
