Notes: Vasefinder is offering this outstanding bowl form created by one of the important artists of the American Movement. Without a doubt, Dr. Glen Lukens is one of the important stars of the early era--inspiring many students both directly and indirectly through his teaching at USC. He was awarded the prestigious Binns' medal in 1949 for outstanding achievements and won the 1936 Syracuse Nationals. The exact bowl offered here was once offered by David Rago's auction house in 1992, where it was accompanied with a signed pot in auction lot#111. There is no doubt the work of this pot was created by the Dr. Lukens. I offer it here at a very reasonable price. Every collection of important studio pottery should include a pot by this stalwart.
