This footed vessel with stunning feathery rich brown glaze with highlights was
created by one of the "Giant Killers" of the American Studio Movement,
Swiss born Paul Bonifas (1893-1967). Arriving at the University of Washington,
Seattle, in the mid-1940's, Bonifas would electrify a whole generation of important
potters to work in the clay medium from the Northwest region, such as Richard
Fairbanks, Monte Colgren and Virginia Weisel to just mention a few. Bonifas pots
are rare, so do not miss this opportunity. This pot would complement an Arts and
Crafts or Modern decor.
