Rare Paul Bonifas Footed Vessel

Marked: Incised with initials of artist and also studio mark of P2C5.

Condition: No chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. This item shows minimal use

Dimensions: 8"h x 4.5"w

Notes: This footed vessel with stunning feathery rich brown glaze with highlights was created by one of the "Giant Killers" of the American Studio Movement, Swiss born Paul Bonifas (1893-1967). Arriving at the University of Washington, Seattle, in the mid-1940's, Bonifas would electrify a whole generation of important potters to work in the clay medium from the Northwest region, such as Richard Fairbanks, Monte Colgren and Virginia Weisel to just mention a few. Bonifas pots are rare, so do not miss this opportunity. This pot would complement an Arts and Crafts or Modern decor.
