Eugene Deutsch

Marked: Incised E. Deutch, 1948. He signed both Deutsch and Deutch, due to anti-Semitism.

Condition: There are no chips, nicks, cracks, or repairs. Light factory polishing at the foot. This pot shows almost no use. It has a nice ringing resonance to attest to its fine quality. WE GUARANTEE CONDITION.

Dimensions: 4"h x 3"w

Notes: Eugene Deutch, who was a student of Brancusi while studying in France, taught for many years at the Art Institute of Chicago. An important article was written by Thomas Turnquist and published through the Journal of American Art Pottery, which unlocked some of the history of this important American artist, who first exhibited at the Syracuse Nationals in 1937. This outstanding pot would complement your Modernist or Arts and Crafts Era decors.
