Mountainside Art Pottery

Marked: Incised MP, as shown

Condition: There are no chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. Minor flake/fleck noted at the foot, as well as crazing throughout, which shows aging. This pot offers a subtle nice ringing resonance to attest to its fine quality.

Dimensions: 6.875"h X 4.5"w

Notes: Vasefinder is offering this thrown vase form from the transitional kiln of the Mountainside Art Pottery of New Jersey, which was in production from approximately 1929 to 1941. John Kovacs, a Hungarian immigrant, was the master potter of said kiln, where he produced both functional and sculptural wares. This pot is perfect for an early American Studio Movement collection or Stickley era bungalow decor. Don't miss!!!!
