Notes:
Vasefinder is offering this finely executed impressionistic monochromatic
watercolor by Roy Powers, who is well listed in the Robert McFadden
reference Painters of Nevada, 1845-1980. Powers was born
in Washington state, and he came to Reno in 1942 with his family.
He studied at the Art Center School Los Angeles. He also studied
with Lewis Hymers. He was the PR and marketing director for Harold's
Club for many years. He had ties to the Reno Artist's Co-op, to
add. This fine original watercolor is of a town street scene town
and executed with great skills. There is an almost WPA feel to this
piece, which is dated from 1972.
