Marked: Signed Velda Morby within the image with title of Hunting Truffles and then notes of W.C. 5 X 7 Velda Morby, 473 W. Plumb Lane, Reno, Nevada 89509 and one time telephone number of 323-8364, as well as a number of 1875 and taped number of 9727.

Condition: The subject is in very nice condition with no visible damage. Light wear and nicks to the frame. I have not removed the painting from the frame.

Dimensions: The meaurements are 5 by 7 inches, where as the frame's exterior measurements are approximately 6.875 by 7.785 inches.

Notes: Velda Morby was born in Mina, Nevada. She studied at the CCAC, as well as with Richard Yip, Louis Heinzman and Warren Brandon. She was a charter member of the Reno Artist's Co-op. She was also a well respected author of many of the art articles published in the local papers. Her work is a complicated assemblage of Impressionisn, Fauvism, Modernism and etc., where almost every work she executed showed little relation to the prior. An artist that never stood still in her work, which at times was genius. Vasefinder is offering this very fine watercolor, which has some ties to the Pointillism Art Movement and is executed in a very touching manner of a man with his pig searching for truffles. This is a stunner of a painting and museum quality.
