Artist's Statement: I enjoy doing wood firings twice yearly, with a group of potters and artist, in fall and spring. This vase was in the last firing we did and shows the flame marks and the movement that the fire has left on the surface. Through these marks and ash deposits, wood fired work tells the story of its creation in the heat of the kiln.
