Artist's Statement: I have been working with clay for 37 years after a career in biological research and teaching. Hence my interest in creating designs that depict faience and flora. These designs are slip-carved onto the surface of pots (hand-built or thrown) when leather hard. The pots are then coated with an earthenware terra sigillata and fired to cone 10 in a propane gas kiln in oxidation.
