Artist's Statement: My work in clay reflects my love for nature. I try to capture what I experience throughout the day and night. Sometimes, it is as simple as a raindrop, other times as complex as a sunrise or cloud formation. I work mainly in raku, smoke fire and horsehair. These low fire techniques allow me to explore the essence of the natural world. In nature there is a wild and terrible beauty. I strive to recreate that concept through classic forms and elegant surface design.
