Received her M.A. in Music from Mills College, and it was not until the late 1940's
she became interested in ceramics. She was a student of Bernard Leach, Edward
Cadogan and Antonio Prieto. One time address listed at 721 Beach Street, San Francisco,
California. Irene was spouse of Karl Rhode-Hamel. We show this artist exhibiting
in the 1950's at the Pacific Coast Exhibition and Sale, as well as at the Association
of San Francisco Potters. Exhibited at the Nationals in 1949, 1951, 1952 and 1956.
