| Robert
Montanucci was born in San Jose, California, and raised in the Central San Joaquin
Valley. He grew up in an artistic family, where he was encouraged by his parents
to express his creativity. Robert's
style of painting was influenced primarily by American and Dutch still-life masters.
He believed that with still-life painting he could explore the trompe l'oiel technique
of realism to its fullest extent. He has selected oil colors over the mediums
because they blended and mixed easier to attain the super realism that he so desired. The
hallmarks of Montanucci's oil paintings are clarity and composition rendered with
great imagination and rich color. Brilliantly conceived and masterfully executed,
his still-life's seem set into airless time and space, while infinite detail and
subtle tones of light and shadow create the impression that the objects depicted
are suspended before you. Robert
Montanucci's still-life and limited edition prints are now part of private and
museum collections worldwide. He has won major art competitions, including the
State of California's Duck Stamp contest and has exhibited his work in fine galleries
in Carmel, Santa Fe and throughout the United States. His work was just included
in the 2005 Nevada Triennial. He has had numerous write-ups in regional
and national publications including Southwest Art and Horizon magazines.
He is listed in many reference publications including Who's Who in California,
Duck Stamps and Prints: The Complete Federal and State Editions, Askart.com, The
International Directory of Distinguished Leadership and Painters of Nevada
