Artist's Statement: Wheel throwing and altering of those forms, I find challenging and exciting. This Cairn Series is inspired by the rock formations and actual cairn markers I see on trails in Colorado. This vase was raku fired after spraying on stains and glazes. I have worked steadily as a potter since receiving my BFA from California State University in 1973.
