Artist's Statement: Clay is a vehicle of essence. The qualities and characteristics of clay makes the vase what it is. Pushing towards fluid and modifiable means, I create unique boundaries by using low fire glazes, stains and under glazes. I set parameters on the use of tools and colors while modifying the wheel thrown vase. When glazing, I randomly select a limited number of colors and slowly build layers, to achieve the end result.
