In this work, made at the time of my elderly mother's extended stay in hospital, I explore my mother's journey to her adopted country and her journey through life there. At the same time, I am recording my journey into a new way of working using the dot to achieve atmospheric perspective, line and textural colour within my narrative and to invite a deeper conversation and emotional connection to the story that the marks on the surface convey.
