Artist's Statement: The vase that I have selected to show for Vasefinder 2012 exhibition is thrown porcelain with an iron saturated molybdenum crystalline glaze. The surface varies from a glowing transparent cranberry red with iridescent crystals to a browner more galvanized surface at the bottom of the vase. I have been experimenting and refining results for this family of glazes since the early 1990's. Smooth flowing curves seem to provide the best ground to showcase the qualities of this group of glazes.
