Artist's Statement: Dark cloud-covered, raining skies evoke memories of warm sun, balmy air, the thunder of ocean surf on sandy beaches alive with creatures from beyond the edge of the world. Palm trees - a myriad varieties - are symbols for this home away from home. I reach for paper to make a tracing to take home as a memory. Soon the memory finds its way onto a pot - because that's what I do in the rainy, dreary winter in my rainforest home. And when the kiln gods smile, the sun shines through.
